What to Expect at Your First Massage at Tuvi (Sellwood, Portland)

If you're visiting Tuvi for the first time, you might be wondering what to expect. We've put together a quick guide so you can feel comfortable and prepared before you arrive.

Before You Arrive

After booking, you'll receive an intake form by text and email. It's quick and easy to fill out on your phone or computer. Completing it ahead of time allows your provider to review your needs, history, and goals before you arrive, leaving more of your appointment for your massage.

Kaiser members: No referral is needed, so you can book directly.

Wear whatever is comfortable. Parking is available on SE 17th Ave and in the lot behind the clinic.

The Space

Tuvi is a calm, welcoming clinic in Portland's Sellwood neighborhood, with a comfortable waiting area to relax in when you arrive. Our treatment rooms are private and quiet. Some are fully enclosed, while others are curtained.

When You Arrive

Your provider will greet you in the waiting area and bring you back to your treatment room. They'll review your intake form with you, ask any follow-up questions, and make sure they understand what you're hoping to get out of the session so your treatment is individualized to you.

Then they'll step out so you can get ready. You'll undress to your comfort level and lie on the table under a cover. You'll remain draped throughout the session, with only the area being worked on uncovered.

Your Massage

Tuvi providers specialize in therapeutic massage focused on pain, tension, injury recovery, and function. Every session is tailored to your body, your goals, and what you need that day.

This is your session, so speak up anytime. Ask for more or less pressure, skip an area, or pause or stop whenever you like. Your provider will check in, but you never need to wait to be asked.

Appointments are available in 60-, 90-, or 120-minute sessions. Ninety minutes is our most popular length because it leaves time to address several areas or work more deeply on a specific concern. If you book 60 minutes, you can extend to 90 minutes for an additional $40, charged directly to you, subject to availability.

After Your Appointment

Take your time getting up and dressed. Any applicable copay or patient responsibility will be charged to the card on file. If you have questions about your benefits or billing, we're always happy to help.
